What to expect at your consultation about your urinary catheter

Urinary catheter care

Tricia has had many years experience assisting patients with urinary catheters. As a nurse practitioner, Tricia can independently assess and prescribe any treatments that are required to best manage your urinary catheter.

Her experience includes but not limited to:

Indwelling catheter changes

Difficult indwelling catheter changes (usually requiring a guidewire)

Suprapubic catheter changes

Advice for blocked, painful catheters

Advice for recurrent infections with catheters

Teaching clean intermittent self catheterisation or dilatation

Please allow 45 minutes for your initial appointment. This allows time to ask questions and a plan of care will be jointly implemented. Please allow 30 minutes for a regular catheter change and bring your catheter supplies with you.
